Just winding down from a three-day president-elect training. There’s much on my mind—sitting in the moment.
I am beyond grateful I’ve been chosen to serve in this position again. I now understand the wait and the assignment. Ten years ago, I had a vision for the future of our profession. A vision very few colleagues saw. Now, things are different. The world is different. I’m finally with a group of leaders who are ready to take on challenges and advance our profession.
Timing is everything, and the possibilities are limitless.
Taking it all in.

Forty-Nine Years Of Friendship And Love
My first besties (besides my sister).
My sister-friend.
My family.
Shawn and I have been friends since we were toddlers, almost five decades! She exemplifies the unconditional love and harmony I desire to see in the world. Y’all, Shawn is love.
Last night, we spent a few hours together. We hadn’t seen each other in almost two years, but it felt like we’d never been apart. I am so grateful and blessed that God placed us together.

**Here’s a small glimpse of God’s awesomeness in our relationship.
As you can see, we share the same first name. I was born in Mississippi. She was born in Chicago. Our mothers were never friends. We met through our grandparents. Here’s where the awesomeness comes in. Shawn was born between my sister and me—four months after me and almost a year before my sister. Well…guess what?! They share the same middle name. Shawn’s is Evette and my sister’s is Yvette. Again, our moms weren’t friends and didn’t even live in the same city. Y’all, we were destined to be together—a divine connection.☺️
I can’t say it enough, I love the way God loves me. I am truly blessed!🥰

Our Leap Year Baby
Today, we celebrated my youngest nephew’s first birthday. He’s our leap year baby! His parents decided they would celebrate his birthday on February 28th each year until the 29th rolls around again.
Last year was a roller coaster ride for him and my sister. My sister had to be induced a week early due to preeclampsia. A few days after giving birth, she began experiencing shortness of breath, so she went to the emergency room. Well, without consulting with OB/GYN, the ER doctor diagnosed her with acute heart failure, released her (said there was nothing he could do), and referred her to a heart specialist. The next day, she called her doctor and was readmitted for preeclampsia. It wasn’t heart failure. Talk about a frightening and emotional time! After receiving the proper care, she was released a few days later. A couple of days after that, the baby was diagnosed with jaundice.
The first few weeks of his life were very eventful. Now, here we are a year later, and everyone’s healthy. God is good.♥️
Struggle–Free Blessings
Last year I wrote—
“Walking into blessings without the struggles. I refuse to accept that struggles are a prerequisite for blessings. Nope. Not today!”
As last year, I refuse to accept that I will always struggle before receiving blessings. Not buying it! NOT AT ALL!♥️
