My Journey With God, No. 30

Was feeling some kind of way for not feeling bad about a situation. Was beginning to think I was being heartless. Even stopped what I was doing to check myself. Decided to read a past journal entry written on this day and the message I needed was right there as plain as day!

Here’s what I wrote on December 2, 2017—

“The lesson I learned is never fight more for someone than they are willing to fight for themselves. NEVER!”

On that particular day, I was putting my career on the line for someone who didn’t even want to work with us. I assumed he was being treated unfairly. Come to find out he was doing the bare minimum and couldn’t wait to leave.

Sometimes when people aren’t fighting for themselves it’s not because they don’t know how, sometimes it’s because they don’t want to. Do what you can, then step back and let them continue on their own. If they want to succeed, believe me, they will.♥️

God’s Presence

When I tell you Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts delivered a word this morning!!! Listen, God’s presence is everything!!! I know what God has promised me, but I don’t want the promise without God’s presence. Me and God are in this together for life. For life. I can’t move without Him. I refuse to move without Him. ♥️

I refuse to move without God’s presence.

My Journey With God, No. 29

Singing, “You made a way. Don’t know how but You did it.”

God has come through for me so many times. Too many times to name. I don’t know how He does it, but He does it every time. Every single time. Y’all, I am so grateful He loves me.

I am truly blessed.♥️ ~Shaun

Hello Sunday

Good Morning & Happy December!☃️

I can’t believe the end of the year is already here! I pray this month brings us more love, peace, joy, and blessings than we have received all year. May they set the precedents for 2025 and the years ahead.♥️

Love you,

My Journey With God, No. 28

Earlier today, God had to check me on the way I showed up…or didn’t show up…for myself. He let me know that even when I don’t feel like showing up, I still have to show up. It wasn’t anything significant that happened. Actually, it was something small. So small that I didn’t feel like the way I showed up even mattered. However, it did.

From here on, I must be intentional about how I treat myself in all situations, not only the ones I believe are important.

It’s self-love Saturday, and loving myself has to always be done thoroughly.

I’m listening, God.♥️

The Plan

You may not be able to see it, but God has a plan. All you need to do is sit back, relax, and go with the flow. He’ll guide you when it’s time to move. Believe me when I say, He’s got you!♥️

Love you,

Shaun

There’s no better or safer place to be than in God’s hands.

Smiling

Good Morning☀️
It’s Self-love Saturday!

Two years ago, I wrote the following in one of my Wednesday Writings post—

“Progression is the name of the game, right? Smiling. Looking forward to meeting the woman I’m becoming.” – Wednesday Writings, November 30, 2022

That statement has me smiling a huge smile. Cheeks hurt because my smile is so big.

Y’all, I can see the woman I am becoming. I see her, and she’s emerging unafraid and unapologetically. Yes, I see her, and I love her.

Real talk, though. I am so glad I didn’t give up on myself and didn’t settle for things as they were. I can only imagine what my life would be like right now had I settled. I knew the path I was headed down, and it wasn’t a good one. At one point, it was one of suppression, depression, and hopelessness. I also think about my children’s lives and what they would be like today. I am so proud of myself for making decisions that helped me take my life back. Y’all, God is so good. As I have said many times before, I am beyond blessed.♥️

Pray First

Before you make unnecessary or costly moves, pray first. Pray about the situation, then listen for the answer. Allow God to guide your decision(s).♥️

Do You Know What You Want?

Good Morning☀️

On November 28, 2021, I was reading Will Smith’s memoir, WILL. Meant to share this yesterday but forgot. When I tell you I took sooooo many notes. If you haven’t read it, it is so worth reading. Here’s an excerpt from my entry.

Shaun’s Journal Entry: November 28, 2021

“JL or James Lassiter asked Will these questions while trying to figure out what Will really wanted. Will had no real direction just wanted not to ever be broke again and to be able to have fun.

Questions:

What is the dream?

What are you trying to build?

What do you want?

Stephen Covey, in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, said there are only two human problems: (1) knowing what you want, but not knowing how to get it; and (2) not knowing what you want.”

Again, I loved this memoir!

I believe we must ask ourselves JL’s questions from time to time to see if our answers have changed. Is our dream still the same? What are we trying to build? What do we want? Even though I am now on the other side of 50, the core (which I believe is most important) of my answers remain the same. I know what I want.

For years, I used to dwell on what Steven Covey listed as the first problem—knowing what I wanted but not knowing how to get it. However, today, I don’t even think about how I’m going to get it anymore. God is finally the captain of my ship and I’m sitting back enjoying this ride called life. I trust Him to get me to wherever I belong. He knows best. Listen, life is so much better when we allow God to lead, and when we’re obedient.

Question:

Do you know what you want? Your core desires, not the superficial ones.

This is all for now. Thanks for reading. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving!♥️

Love you,

Shaun
