God, Show Me You

Good Morning!☀️

How are you?

I pray that you’re well.🌸

I slept in again! Maybe my body is trying to tell me something. Hmmm… I guess it’s time to practice what I preach and focus more on self-care. Even though I still feel like I’m in my 20s mentally, the reality is I’m getting older. And if I want to see a healthy 100, I need to start making changes now. Which means, I must figure out how to manage my first post. I love writing when I wake up. I always want my “Good Morning” to be an actual first of the day greeting. Anyhoo… we shall see what I decide to do.

On another note, I woke up singing Kirk Franklin and the Family’s song, “Let Me Touch You.” The song says—

When I’m down

When I’m lonely

When I’m discouraged

Like I never have before
Lord, I need You more and more, Jesus
Let me touch You and see if You are real

Such a powerful song! I don’t have to touch Jesus to know that He’s real. I know He’s real. However, lately, I’ve been asking God to show me Himself. I see him in the tiniest of things, but I want to see Him in bigger things where I can say, “Baby, THAT WAS GOD!!!!” And I don’t want it to come in the “I was about to get hit by a car and God saved me” or “I was on my deathbed and God brought me back to life” way. In other words, I don’t want to experience a tragedy for me to say, “That was God!”. No, I want to see Him while I enjoy life.

I thought today’s Facebook memory from three years ago (June 6, 2022) went well with the rest of the post, so I decided to share it here instead of posting it later. Y’all, that rose was perfect. I received it at an event I attended several years ago. The theme of the event was “Beauty for Ashes.”

Now, don’t get me wrong. I am extremely grateful for everything I have and for the way God continuously blesses and loves me. But I desire to see more of Him. And I don’t believe there’s anything wrong with me asking that of Him. I am His child, right?

Okay… I believe I have written enough. I don’t want to publish this any later than I already am. I pray you have a beautiful day and weekend. May they be filled with love, joy, peace, and laughter.♥️

**I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t mention that my fav has another new movie streaming on Netflix! It’s called Tyler Perry’s STRAW, starring Taraji P. Henson, Teyana Taylor, and Sherri Shepherd. I can’t wait to watch it. Check it out!

My Journey With God, No. 97

“Consistent & Sustainable“ were my focus words for 2020.

Today, the word “consistent” has been on my mind, hence the reason for the image above. I had to see if I had shared anything about it lately and happened to find that screenshot in my photos. Now that I see that the word “sustainable” was added, the message is clear.

Nothing is sustainable without consistency.

Talk about a word!

Last year I wrote, “God’s guidance is strategic. Trust Him and trust His plan.”

God has a purpose and plan for our lives that even we aren’t privileged to know. He only asks that we be obedient and trust Him.

So, that thing He’s been telling you to do—yeah.. you know, that thing—do it! I don’t care how small or insignificant it may seem or how big and challenging it appears—do it. It’s part of God’s plan.

Follow God’s guidance. He knows where He’s taking you. Trust Him.

Only GOD can do what He does, and only He can bless you how YOU need to be blessed.

I take nothing in life for granted, and even the smallest of things I consider blessings. Anything that makes my heart smile is a blessing, and I always try to let God know how wonderful and amazing He is. Y’all, He’s so good! Even without doing anything He’s good.

The song I’m singing right now is William Murphy’s, “Praise Is What I Do.” I was created to praise Him.

My Journey With God, No. 95

My heart is so full right now! Those who have been following me for a while know that it doesn’t take much to make me smile or feel blessed. Well, at this moment, I feel like I’m on top of the world! Y’all, I never knew seeing a few jets flying would cause me to feel so much joy. I really did love my time in the Air Force. It was my life for so long.

A few minutes ago, I opened Facebook and the first thing I saw were jets flying. Another one of my favs, Mrs. Michelle Obama, had posted the trailer for her and President Obama’s new documentary on Netflix, “Air Force Elite: Thunderbirds.” I had no idea it was even in the works. When I tell you it’s like receiving a gift you weren’t expecting. Felt the same yesterday when I found out “She the People” is a comedy about Mississippi. Who knew?! Lol.

Anyway… I can’t even begin to describe what I’m feeling at the moment. Y’all, during my career, I entered thousands of flight plans, did so many briefings and airfield checks, and the part of my job that I miss the most is watching the fighters take off, especially at the break of dawn. There’s nothing like it. I am so looking forward to seeing this documentary. If you would like to watch it too, it’s out now on Netflix!

Quietness Warranted

This morning, I decided to sleep in and allow the rest of my day to flow as it pleased. After the past few weeks I’ve had, I needed it.

It’s been quiet.

I’ve needed the quietness.

I needed a moment to breathe.

I’m planning to move in the same manner this weekend.

No plans.

Just going with the flow.

Just being.
