Positive vibes only!

So today I decided to share another Facebook memory. I’m not sure what was going on at the time but it seems as if I was fed up with negativity. I’ll just say this, once I started distancing myself from negative people and situations, my life became so much more peaceful. Today, when negativity rears its ugly head, positivity rushes in like a superhero and Knocks It Out! No lie! I’m smiling as I write because I couldn’t say this five years ago, which is when I wrote this post. Listen, when I tell you God has put in some work over the years, believe me. I’m sooo loving my new life!

Just thinking about life.

Trying to get people to see things differently is very difficult. If a person had a negative experience with a person, place or thing, it’s almost impossible to get them to see anything positive about any of those things. So do you continue to encourage them to be positive or just leave it alone? Negative people (myself included) and situations are exhausting! Whenever I feel myself becoming negative I try to remove myself from whatever is causing the negativity. Those vibes are contagious!

So to answer my question- Do you continue to encourage people to be positive or leave the situation alone?. Well, I’m learning to let people be. Whatever that person feels is on them. If they enjoy negativity, they enjoy it. I’ve learned to accept who they are, which has made my life so much easier. My opinions are mine and theirs are theirs. Life is too short to be stressed over things and situations only God can change. But ALWAYS keep praying for them! Be blessed~

Listen, keep those negative vibes away from you. As I said, they’re contagious! I pray you have more positive experiences than negative ones. Whenever you feel yourself becoming negative, please find a way to distance yourself from whatever is causing the negativity. You deserve a positive life.

Have a blessed day!

Just Dropping In To Say Hello

About a week and a half ago, I decided to log off all of my social media accounts to include not blogging. I needed to concentrate on a few things and the noise was a bit much. Now that I’ve been off for a while I’m not sure when, or if, I’ll return. I’m not referring to blogging because I still love to write (been journalling several times a day). I’m referring to my other accounts, particularly Twitter and Facebook. They tend to give me anxiety. Always too much going on. With that said, there are aspects I do miss. I miss tweeting during my shows, saying “Good Morning” to the sisters in the Facebook group, We Are Sistas, and keeping in touch with close family and friends. The other stuff, I don’t miss it at all. It was just a bunch of noise. If I don’t see it on the morning shows, nightly news, or hear about it on the radio, I’ll live. As I said, it was just too much. If I do return, things are going to be different.

How I’m feeling. Life is good.

Listen, once you find peace it’s hard to go back to chaos. Just saying. Enjoy your weekend and I’ll see y’all on Sunday!

Hello Sunday!

This is my third attempt at writing today’s blog. I have a lot to say, but I just don’t feel like writing or sharing. Imagine that– Shaun not feeling like sharing. Lol. Instead I’ll leave you with this:

When you know, you know.

I know it’s random. One phrase, many interpretations. What’s your interpretation?

Déjà Vu! Didn’t I Say This Yesterday?

We’ve all had déjà vu moments at some point in our lives. It’s like you’re standing somewhere and for a split second you think, “I’ve been here before,” or “I’ve heard this before.” Well, this morning while scrolling through my Facebook memories I found a post I made on March 8, 2019. Y’all, it’s so similar to yesterday’s blog that it’s scary. Wow!! Just take a look at the screenshot. I guess I really needed this message, or perhaps someone else needed it so much so that I had to post it TWICE. Just, Wow!!

I actually said this 2 years ago! Speechless

I’m listening God!

Logging Off Is Difficult But Necessary

I’m really trying to create healthier habits by sticking to my scheduled times. I’ve allotted 1.5 hours to tweet during and after my shows. Tonight I did well. My show ended almost 30 minutes ago and I decided not to use the full 30 minutes to tweet afterwards. I also logged off Facebook. I have to stick with my set schedule because I really hate how attached I’ve become to social media. The only way things will change is for me to be intentional about changing them.

I know I can do this. I have to.

Good Night

Hello Sunday

A simple “Thank you”

Last night I watched the movie, “Malcom and Marie,” which was a 2-hour dialogue between a couple who had just come home from an awards ceremony. Malcom had won an award for a movie he produced about a 20 year old model/aspiring actress who had overdosed on drugs. Marie.. well.. I don’t care how many ways Malcom tried to spin the story.. Marie was his inspiration behind the movie. I’m not going to give away too much of the movie. I want to give you a chance to watch it because, I don’t know about you, I hate spoilers. So, I’ll just leave you with this:

Most women are nurturers. When we love someone, we tend to put their needs and feelings before our own. From the macaroni scene, to stifling her feelings, until the end, Marie was that woman. But did Malcom notice? Do men notice? Like Marie, most of us suppress our feelings, smile and keep going like we’ve never been hurt or bothered. Is it right? Heck, no! But it’s what we do. It’s who we are. Like most women, Marie didn’t want to steal Malcom’s shine. She just wanted to feel appreciated.

Hmm… Wonder what would happen if we started putting ourselves first?

Women, nurturers, Queens, thank you for your selfless acts of love. For acts that go unnoticed. For the things you do that are second nature. Thank you for holding households together while trying to maintain your own sanity. Thank you for your unconditional love. Thank you for loving hard even when it’s hard to love. Thank you for pressing forward through your tears. Thank you for being that rock. Thank you for the sacrifices you make so that others can excel. Thank you for being you. In my Tupac voice, “You are appreciated!”
