I’m 52!

I’m finally 52!

So, how do I feel?

Fabulous!!

Seriously, as I mentioned in my previous post, I feel rejuvenated. Like I woke up as a different, lighter person. The past week with my babies was the best. No complaints at all.

Favor, overflow, and grace in full effect!🥰 God is good.

Here are a few pictures from yesterday. My sisters will be here for a few hours this afternoon. Can’t wait to see them!💗

My daughter sent me a flower cake. It’s so pretty!🌺🌸🌼

My Journey With God, No. 106

I finally looked at my Facebook memories from past birthdays. Here are a few that made my heart smile.

Facebook Memories:

My brother was creating digital art 14 years ago. He created this for my birthday. I miss him.🕊️

Even when it doesn’t seem beautiful, it’s beautiful.

Forever grateful.🥰

My beautiful momma. This morning, I had a hard time writing my first post because I was missing her so badly. I wish she could be here with me. I’m so glad I have memories like this. They’re my treasures.♥️

Six years ago, I celebrated my birthday with kids at a summer camp. My heart was full.

Now, I’m getting ready to go make more memories with my son. Today is his day with me.☺️

I am so blessed.

Thank You, God, for loving me.

This is Year52!🎉♥️

Less Than Two Days Until Year52!

I’m back home! Had a wonderful time with my baby girl. The festivities began as soon as I arrived on Thursday, and by Friday evening, I was exhausted. Yesterday (Saturday), I asked if we could skip the plans and just hang out and go with the flow, and she was okay with that. Y’all, she had many more activities planned.

Here’s a brief recap of the past few days.

Thursday

I love a good baseball game, but only in person. I’m not a fan of watching it on TV. That evening, the Atlanta Braves played the New York Mets and won!🏆

Friday

On Friday, my daughter’s fiancé took me on a tour of his workplace before we went shopping. He works in tech support, and the view from his workspace is quite nice.

We finished the evening by visiting two of my favorite places to eat.

Saturday

My daughter made breakfast on Saturday morning. Afterwards, we hung out for a while and watched the latest episodes of Love Island USA. She loves reality shows. I just can’t get into them. Anyhoo… It was too hot to do anything else. However… we did walk down to a Brisket and Bourbon event they were having and picked up a rib plate and some cinnamon rolls.☺️

Then, last night, we had dinner at Culinary Dropout, a restaurant they had wanted to take me to during previous visits, but we never managed to visit it. I’m glad I finally went. The food was good.

This morning, I had a yogurt parfait and a BBQ rib for breakfast. That was all I needed before I left. I’m not sure what I’ll do tomorrow. We shall see.🥰

Blessings, Glory, And Honor

Good Morning!☀️

I pray that you’re doing well.🌸

I woke up singing Maurette Brown Clark’s song, “Just Want To Praise You.” The song says—

“I just want to praise you forever and ever and ever. For all you’ve done, done for me. Blessings and glory and honor they all belong to you. Thank you Jesus for blessing me!”

That’s exactly what I feel—blessed. My theme for Year51 was “Beyond Blessed,” and this year has lived up to that theme. This is why I need to be mindful of the theme I set for Year52. Smile

Blessings and glory and honor all belong to God. I truly cannot express it enough, I am absolutely blessed—Beyond blessed!

FOUR more DAYS!!🎉

I’m enjoying my time with my baby girl. She always makes me feel so special. I just love being in her presence. You dote on your babies when they’re little ones, but I never imagined feeling the same about an adult child. Of course, it’s not exactly the same. I doubt if she even knows how I feel. She’s worried about making sure I enjoy my birthday weekend when all I want to do is spend time with her. I just love her.🥰

Anyhoo…

I pray that you have a fabulous day and beautiful weekend! May it be filled with lots of love, joy, peace, and laughter. You deserve it!♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Seven Days

Good Morning!☀️

I’m hoping all is well with you.🌸

The final week of my birthday countdown is here! Seven days until Year52!

I smiled when I saw this Facebook memory. I remember how excited I was. I couldn’t wait to celebrate my 50th birthday, my jubilee year. Smiling because that was some year! Whew! Little did I know that my jubilee year would actually be my “tried in the fire” year. Soooo… did I come out of the fire as pure gold?

Hmmm… I’m still being refined.☺️

That year, I learned I needed to take better care of myself. I needed to put myself first to become a better, stronger version of my former self, especially if I wanted to live fifty more years. It was so necessary! I’m smiling because the pruning I went through had to be done. I needed to let go of so much of my former self to fully embrace the person I am today. Y’all, I like this version of myself better. This version of Shaun even breathes differently. As I said in the memory above, I am truly blessed.

I pray you have one of your best days yet! You deserve it!♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Deborah, if you’re reading this today, HAPPY 69TH BIRTHDAY!!! Thank you for your unwavering support, kindness, love, and prayers. May your day and year be filled with an abundance of love, joy, peace, and laughter.🌸💕🙏🏽

Season Of Grace And Favor

Good Morning!☀️

I pray you had a wonderful weekend and restful night.🌸

I woke up this morning singing William Murphy’s song, “It’s Working.” The song says—

“This is my season for grace, for favor. This is my season to reap what I have sown. …

Everything is working together for my good.”

Yes… This is my season of grace and favor, and my time to reap every good seed I’ve sown.

But I’m not alone. This is also your season! Continue to put God first and allow Him to lead. He’s taking you somewhere beautiful.

I pray that you have a magnificent week. May it be filled with lots of love, laughter, and joy.♥️

I love you,

Shaun

Eight Days… Year52, I see you!🥰

Ten Days Till 52

Beyond Blessed🥰

TEN DAYS till Year 52!💗

As a kid, I never imagined my life beyond my 20s, and my 30s never crossed my mind. Now, here I am in my 50s! Talk about mind-blowing! I am beyond grateful, taking nothing—not one thing—for granted.

God is so good.♥️

Shaun’s World

“Shaun’s World” was the original name of my blog. I’m not sure when I changed it to “It’s Shaun’s World.” A couple of days ago, I celebrated my 7th Anniversary of blogging. I hadn’t realized I had been blogging for so long.

On June 11, 2018, I wrote the following in my journal—

“I launched my birthday blog early. I was bored and had things to share. It’s called “Shaun’s World.” It’s me and all of my quirkiness. I needed this outlet. I’ll see how long I can keep this up.”

I started this blog to commemorate my 45th birthday, but as I mentioned, I launched it early. I needed an outlet besides Twitter and Facebook to express myself without being completely judged. Thank you for allowing me this space.

Here’s what I shared in my first post on June 9/10, 2018 (there are two different dates on the post).

Welcome to Shaun’s World, Again! Lol

Ha! I had published this same blog on my old site. That site is being deactivated. So follow me on this site. My new site.

Welcome to the world of random thoughts, inside jokes and carefree writing. Yes, it’s Shaun’s World!

This site isn’t meant to be stuffy or too serious because all of that is pretty boring. It takes too much thought and time to create those sites (been there, done that) when all I want to do is share.

So, be warned, grammatical errors will happen; corny jokes will be told; heartfelt and meaningless stories will be shared and life will go on.

Again, welcome to Shaun’s World!

Muah!
#Year45

Again, thank you for allowing me this space to freely express myself and be ME. I truly appreciate YOU!

Love you!♥️

Faith

Good Morning☀️

How are you?

I truly hope you’re doing well.🌸

Last night, I watched the BET Awards. I’m not sure how others felt while watching it, but this year’s ceremony seemed different—not necessarily different in a bad way, but in an eerily good way. Maybe it was because they were celebrating BET’s 45th Anniversary and I’m old enough to remember what I was doing 45 years ago, or because they celebrated a few 90s music icons who are all around my age. Hmm…

When I think about it, it felt more like a family reunion where one generation was passing the torch to another—and I happen to be in that generation of torch passers. Overall, the entire event was very emotional and felt more significant than past awards shows. If I could sum it up, I would say the mood was, “We are all we’ve got.”

There was one quote that stood out last night that I am still feeling the importance of this morning—

“Don’t let your worry be greater than your faith.” – Tyler Perry

Let that sink in…

Our faith must be stronger than our worries. It’s the only way we are going to make it. It’s the only way we have made it.

I pray you have a wonderfully blessed day. May it be filled with lots of love, peace, joy, and laughter.

On another note …

I will be 52 in two weeks!🎉

Yesterday, it dawned on me that I could have been counting down the weeks from the day I turned 51. My theme could have been “52 in 52 Weeks!”

By the way, besides dropping gems of wisdom, my fav just dropped another hit series on us, “Divorced Sistas”! It’s streaming on BET+. Check it out!

Okay… I’m done. Please take care of yourself and live life to the fullest. Don’t take a second for granted. Not one.♥️

I love you,

Shaun
