My Journey With God, No. 85

Yesterday, I shared the New King James Version of the Bible verse, Psalm 23:6, which uses the phrase “goodness and mercy.” However, not all versions of the Bible use the term “mercy.” Instead, some use “love”. Here is the New International Version (NIV) version of the same verse:

Psalm 23:6

“Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

“Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.”

Of course, I want God’s goodness and mercy to follow me all the days of my life; however, I also want His love to follow me. I never want to be without either of these—including the last part of the verse—“And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

Oh, to have God’s goodness, mercy, and love with me every day and to live in His presence forever. What a beautiful gift!

I am truly blessed—beyond blessed.🥰

You Are A Conqueror

So many tears shed in silence. So many battles only God knew about. At times, the pain, disappointments, and heartaches seemed unbearable, yet you made it. YOU made it! You are a conqueror—more than a conqueror.♥️

I love you always,

Shaun

My Journey With God, No. 83

This morning, I’m so very thankful and grateful I am not in the same space I was six years ago. On April 11, 2019, I reclaimed my life by sharing my fears with the world. Before then, the only ones who knew, and I feel cared, were my two hearts. When I tried to share my fears and concerns with other close family, I was told I was overreacting. That the fear was all in my head. I’ve said this many times before, when I say I’m so grateful to still be here, believe me, I’m grateful to still be here. Y’all, God is so good, merciful, and gracious. Here’s the mental and emotional space I was in six years ago.

April 11, 2019

That day, I stopped living and moving in fear. A little over a month later, my ex finally signed the divorce papers. Although I felt somewhat free, it wasn’t until a week before my 46th birthday, when the judge signed my papers, that I knew I was actually free.

When someone tells you they are afraid, believe them. I don’t care how nice or good you may believe someone to be, believe the person who is afraid. They’re not overreacting. My ex did not want to let me go. We had been separated and going through the divorce process for over four years and he was still texting me saying I would always be his wife (kept the communication open because my son was still a minor). It was a very scary situation to be in. Again, I am so grateful I am still here. I’m so grateful I’ve been able to watch my babies become thriving adults. Y’all, I do not take my life for granted at all.

I’m still here!

The Missing Pieces

The missing pieces—the why’s, when’s, who’s, and how’s—are all distractions. Focus on the promise, and God will fill in the rest. Trust Him to lead you where you are meant to be.♥️

Trust In God

The song of the morning is The Winans’ “Trust in God.” The song says—

Just look up
tomorrow’s sun
will let you know
your life’s not done.
Just look around
loves pouring down.
Trust in God.

Trust in God.

I love you!♥️

The Grace To Be Human

Here’s what I shared on March 26, 2022.

No one is perfect, and none of us have lived flawless lives. I’m 100 percent certain that I am not the only one who’s said or done something I now look back on and ask myself, “What was I thinking?” It’s called being human.

I’m so grateful God isn’t human and doesn’t shame us for being so. Instead, He covers us with His grace. I can hear BeBe and CeCe Winans singing “Grace. Y’all, where would we be without God’s grace?

That’s all I have for now. Wishing you a great rest of your day!♥️

Love you always,

Shaun

Things That Make You Go Hmmm…

As Arsenio Hall used to say, “Things that make you go ‘Hmmm’.”

Notice the time?

Found this amongst my handy-dandy saved photos. It seems like my photos are creating their own stories nowadays.🙃 As you can see, love was on my mind at 1:48 AM. Really?! Y’all, I’m cracking up. Seriously… at one o’clock in the morning, I was writing the word “Love.” The sun is cute, though. Why am I hearing, “Sunny days, everybody loves them? Tell me, baby, can you stand the rain?” I guess that’s the adult version of “Sunny Days.” See previous post.

On a serious note, though. I truly love life, even the craziness of it all—which wasn’t always the case. I believe me having a near death experience changed everything. You see, several years ago, I had a car accident not even 30 minutes after thinking I no longer wanted to be here. Yeah… I was so done with life that I wanted to be gone. It was only a thought. Then, the accident happened. Since then, I cherish life and everything that comes with it. Bad times happen. The hurts and disappointments haven’t stopped, but I’m still here! I’m still here! I would have missed out on soooo much had I not lived. Y’all, I’m still here!

Think I’ll end now. I’m not sure if I’ll share a mid-morning post or if this will be it. If I don’t, I’ll talk to you this afternoon.

Love you!♥️

Shaun

THE Source Of My Strength

My strength comes from God. He’s THE Source. There’s no way I could have made it this far without Him.
