Thy will be done.

How often have you said, “Thy will be done,” lately? Me, I haven’t. Haven’t said it in a while. I used to say it all of the time, especially when I set out to do something new – new job, new venture, new collaborations, new relationships. I used to pray and ask God if it were in His will to allow it to happen and if not, please allow it to pass. Well, what happened? Why did I stop using my disclaimer (that’s what I call it)?

The answer that comes to mind – I thought I could force whatever I wanted into something that would fit God’s will. I saw the vision. I somewhat know the purpose. However, instead of waiting on God before moving, I thought I would make my own moves to get there. For someone who is always talking about allowing God to lead, I seem to keep falling short in certain areas. It’s as if I do not trust Him with certain aspects of my life. I know that whenever I say, “Thy will be done,” it opens up the doors for any and everything that could possibly happen. In other words, it frightens me. I have witnessed people lose loved ones, become paralyzed, get cancer, and so much more. To me, and I am just being honest, saying that one phrase opens the door for unknown (sometimes bad) things to happen. You could become ill like Job (in the Bible) or get hit with a life that you did not want, something miserable. As I wrote those last few words, God reminded me that Job’s story did not end with him being down. Because of his faithfulness and unwavering belief in God, God restored everything he lost and added more. Job did not live out the rest of his days sick and down, he lived a happy life.

So, who is to say that my worst days are not behind me. Maybe I have already seen my worst. Up until a year or so ago, I used my disclaimer quite often, and God always saw me through the tough times – ALWAYS. Therefore, I must believe that the best is still to come, not the worst. I have to know that saying, “Thy will be done,” releases the shackles I have placed on God and will allow Him to do great things in my life. It is not in His will for me to suffer but to be prosperous. However, I must believe this. And I know from experience, if I only imagine the worst, I will never be open to receive the good. Been through this before. It’s all about mindset.

Lord, Thy will be done.

As always, thanks for reading!

Be Blessed –

Hello Sunday

I believe God reveals things in stages. He reveals them when He knows we are equipped and ready to move to the next level. Whether we view the revelations as disappointments or blessings, every reveal or “aha” is always on time, and always meant for our good.

Last night, I had a major revelation that normally, I would have considered a disappointment rather than a blessing. Something that would have had me in tears. Believe me, part of me wanted to be sad, even throw a pity party, but I couldn’t. Subconsciously, I always knew the truth. Yeah.. I always knew. I guess last night God decided it was finally time for me wake up. So He hit me with something I could not deny – the truth in black and white, all spelled out. Honestly, if it had been revealed any sooner – even the day before – I would have had a meltdown.

I’m smiling because God is always on time. When He says it’s time to move, He means – it’s time to move!

So, now what? Now that I know the truth, what will be my next move?

Well, I know that everything I experienced was for a purpose. At this moment, I am not quite sure of what purpose. However, I plan to use what I have learned to guide me through the next part of my journey. As they say, when you know better, you do better.

Grateful

Facebook memory: September 8, 2018 Caption and picture.

How many of you have tried to rush things and God said, “Be still” or “Be patient”?

Be Still
Be Patient
God’s Working

I’m not going to lie, I have been feeling pretty low for a few days now. Can’t seem to stop crying. I keep asking myself where is my life headed. Honestly, it seems like my ambitions and dreams have shriveled up. All I’m left with is nothingness. Like, I feel nothing. I want nothing. I’m just here.

Yesterday, my son said I needed to get out the house and go somewhere, anywhere. I was like, all I’ve been doing is going. He said I needed to go somewhere for myself, not to take care of things for someone else. So, we drove down to the coast for lunch. He was right, I needed to do something for me. Now, here I am laying here with my thoughts. I just can’t seem to stop crying. I’ve been patient with myself for years, so why am I not further along? I don’t want to die without achieving my dreams; however, right now, I don’t have any drive to move forward. None. I just want to be.

I know this moment will pass. It always does. But it’s becoming harder and harder to bounce back. This is hard to admit but I’m beginning to feel hopeless. Just being transparent.

Hello Sunday

Hello Everyone! Hope this blog finds you well. Thought I would open today’s blog with a proper greeting because you deserved to be greeted properly. Now, I am not going to promise this will happen often, however, it is happening today. Smile

For those of you who have been reading my blogs for a while, you know I constantly reference two things – trusting God and fulfilling my purpose. You would think by now I would have trusting God mastered. Well, to be completely honest, I don’t. I mean, my trust is getting stronger over time; however, I do slip up from time to time and try to do things on my own. This does not mean I do not have faith that God will do what He’s said. It means sometimes I think He could use a little help with hurrying things along. Now, I know I cannot be the only one who does this. Anyhoo.. today I would like to share a Facebook memory from 2018. The “social media” find I am referring to in my post is the following quote from Bruce Van Horn.

Focus more on WHY you want your dreams to come true rather than how to make them come true. The “HOWS” happen in miraculous ways!

Bruce Van Horn

Facebook Memory: August 8, 2018

Today’s social media find. I’ve found this to be true. The more I focus on why I want my dreams to come true, the more things fall into place. When I focus on the “hows,” I tend to worry and become anxious. I’m learning more and more to let go and let God handle the “hows.”

Two Questions: Why do you want your dreams to come true? What’s your purpose?

As I mentioned earlier, I am getting better with trusting God – that is, completely trusting God to handle everything, or the “HOWS”. The newest task that has been added to this journey is expectation. Basically, expecting to receive God’s blessings (during the how moments) while staying focused on my dream, or my purpose. Yeah.. it’s pretty complicated. My problem has been going from trust to expectation without becoming anxious because I do not see anything happening. I know it’s going to happen because He said it would. But.. WHEN?! HOW?! Now, THAT is a discussion for another blog! Lol. One day I will share my testimonies. Believe me, there are many. Y’all, God is constantly blowing my mind! Smile

Well, that’s all I have for you today. Have a blessed week!

Wednesday Writings

Yesss, it is Wednesday already! Only two more days until the weekend! Nothing big planned. I just love my weekends.

Well, I’m not going to take up too much of your time. Today’s blog is to encourage you to stay the course. You may not be where you imagined you would be at this time in life; however, you are still here and definitely on track. Do not allow minor setbacks to stop you from moving forward or believing in your full potential. If God gave you the dream, vision, and purpose, it is already yours. I would typically say, “Claim it!” However, recently – like last night – God advised me that it was time to move beyond “claiming it” to “receiving it.” So, receive what God has for you. Receive it and OWN IT! Got the “OWN IT!” part from Bishop T. D. Jakes (smile).

That’s it for today. Please enjoy your Wednesday!

About Last Saturday!

Last Saturday I dropped by Tyler Perry Studios! I just couldn’t be that close and not visit. I briefly mentioned my visit in Wednesday Writings but didn’t include pictures.

Gorgeous entrance! I can only imagine how the rest of the property looks.

Watching God work!
